Day 1 of our 3 month coastal camping trip around NZ!

Welcome to our new blog... missed us?
We drive to Auckland first to pick up the last remaining piece of Haden's Landcruiser Truck (yet to be officially christened)... the roof rack. Unfortunately the buggers didn't supply the right fitting kit so until next week no roof rack to store our stuff. Oh well, off to Northland making do.
First stop, New Years with Becky and Jared (family of Holly and Kris) in Ruakaka (just south of Whangarei). Set up camp at a friend of a friends section just 150m from the beach. Pretty awesome New Years impromptu party, even if poor Holly has a broken ankle to contend with (full gory details of that fun story on facebook!). Perfect introductory weather for camping...thank you!
Next stop...Ahipara, right at the bottom of 90 mile beach :)
