Marlborough – Blenheim (White’s Bay)
Sunday 10th February 2013
Day of Trip = 43
Haden is super excited to be on the Interislander! We have
the smoothest crossing Lisa has ever been on and it goes quickly, the beautiful
Sounds are introducing themselves before we know it.
It’s a quick drive from Picton through to Blenheim, so we
stop for lunch, and admire the brown hills and endless vineyards in every
direction! We are definitely saving a day to do some more wine tasting. We
don’t stop now though, and drive around 30 mins north along the coast to a very
beautiful beach at White’s Bay. Amazing DOC campsite in the bush ($6pp/night),
fairly quiet, and a stunning beach just next door. Who said the south island
doesn’t have nice beaches?! We take the opportunity to enjoy the perfect
weather (no we are not sick of it yet) and stay in close proximity to the clear
waters.
Yay so awesome to finally be in the South Island! Woop woop!
